Geography
In this reading there is going to be information about where Ghana is located and the geography around it. Ghana is located in the western atmosphere of Africa and its surrounded south side with the Atlantic Ocean. Before Ghana was located in the modern they used to be located a little north about a few miles away from the desert couple of miles away from Mali and that was the ancient times. Ancient Ghana used the Sahara desert for their trade route because many people in Ancient Ghana believed that if there's more than one route for the trade they'd be successful and multiple routes include some geographic features including the Sahara desert, hills, rivers, woods. When the Soninke people arrived in Ghana they settled along near the Atlantic Ocean and some Soninke people decided to Settle along near rivers, but the ocean for example they found fish, large amount of building materials, enough space for privacy to hygiene themselves, large space for them to settle and live there. The Soninke people wanted to live there because of the food and supplies but they want treasure such as gold and when they found gold they decided to trade for supplies with other ancient African civilizations and with other civilizations around the world and yes the Soninke people did found gold in the rivers but I think the majority came from the ocean. Geographic features made a big impact on these Soninke people because it got them wealthy by finding gold and life because of the amount of supplies the Atlantic Ocean provided and last but least the civilization succeeds and the people are happy because they found a place that they wanted to live in for a long time.
Power
The power structure in Ghana was pretty typical for the time. The king was on the top
and had many responsibilities. He was the commander of war, would take complaints
from citizens, and keep the local hostility to a minimum. The king was in the higher class
and his presets and nobles who would do work for where with him in the higher classes.
People in the high class were very important and mostly helped with morale. The
middle class was your typical merchants, craftsmen, or anyone that owned a business.
The lower class was mostly slaves and peasants or just anyone with little to no pay. The
Ghanian power switched from a monarchy into a democracy in 1969.
They became independent in 1957. They were ruled by England until they became
independent. They are pretty similar to the monarchies of today but a lot of their jobs
where related to trading. The people of Ghana where ruled by a king for a long time. But
they eventually became a democracy and became independent.
